VALENTINO S.p.A. ("Company" or "we") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting it through our compliance with this policy.
Please read this Privacy Policy carefully, as it applies every time you access the Website, even if you do not purchase the products sold on it. Please also read the General Terms and Conditions of Use , as they contain important information about the security systems used by the Website.
This Privacy Policy describes the types of information we may collect from you or that you may provide when you visit the “Website” and our practices for collecting, using, maintaining, protecting, and disclosing that information.
Please note that while the Website is managed directly by Valentino S.p.A. (“VALENTINO”).
VALENTINO USA Inc. (“VALENTINO USA”), is directly responsible for U.S. sales and transactions through the Website (the “E-Store” or “Online Store”). VALENTINO S.p.A., will coordinate with VALENTINO USA in order to provide customers with the best service and the best online shopping experience.
This Privacy Policy is governed: a) by Italian law and in particular by the Code on the Protection of Personal Data (Legislative Decree no.196 of 30 June 2003) and the Act on the Protection of Personal Information (Act No. 57 of May 30, 2003).; and b) by the California Consumer Privacy Act. Who Collects Data
With reference to the processing of data collected and processed through the Website, you are informed that:
- VALENTINO S.p.A. (hereinafter also just “VALENTINO”) is the autonomous controller of the processing of personal data of users who visit the Website, including browsing data, marketing data and profiling.
- VALENTINO S.p.A. and VALENTINO USA Inc. (hereinafter also just “VALENTINO COMPANIES”) are joint controllers of the data processing connected and correlated to the sales made through the E-Store within the Website and to the related pre and post-sales support activities.

(a) personal data related to browsing, processed both to allow the Website to function properly, to manage the delivery of messages relating to purchases and shopping cart, and to allow the management of contractual relationships with third parties related to sales activities, and for marketing purposes. (b) personal data provided voluntarily by the user (e-mail address, personal data, passwords), or otherwise lawfully acquired by the Website; this also includes data collected when the user contacts customer care by phone (it should be noted, in this regard, that upon explicit consent given by the user at the beginning of the phone call, the call may be recorded to enable Valentino to monitor its service offered to customers and to prove the consents required during the client registration by phone) or email, to meet the user's requests and offer the services, assistance and information requested about the products and other enquires about our brand and products(c) with the express consent of the user, VALENTINO may process the user's personal data for marketing purposes, i.e. to send the user (both means both physical and electronic) information and updates on products, sales, promotional campaigns, events and other initiatives promoted by VALENTINO or to request that the user provide information about customer satisfaction and usability of the Website as well as messages aimed at ending unfinished purchased (reminders about products viewed and abandoned cart).
Please note that registration and access through social network profiles involves the disclosure of data (First and last name, email and any other data relating to the user and present on the social network) by the social network. This data, as well as browsing data collected using cookies, will complement and enhance your profile and your customer record in order to allow VALENTINO to know you better. This will only occur if you have previously accepted the disclosure of some of your data by the social media platform during the use of the registration function through a social network login and/or if you have authorized the use of analytical and marketing cookies through the methods present on the Website. (d) with the express consent of the user, VALENTINO may also process the user's personal data for the purpose of studying shopping habits and choices in order to create products and initiatives more in line with the tastes and demands of its customers. In lack of consent, VALENTINO will use for the analysis only non-identifiable information, to proceed only to aggregate market and product analysis.
With the exception of browsing data, which is covered by the Cookie Policy, personal data processing is based on:
1. the user's consent, if any, for the purposes referred to in in paragraph c) and d) (marketing and study of habits);
2. the legitimate interest of both VALENTINO in providing the services of the Website and of the user in browsing the Website properly and/or the legitimate interest of VALENTINO in responding to any requests from customers and to study aggregate market and product analysis;
4. Sources of Personal Data
The personal data collected by VALENTINO is provided directly by the user, with the exception of the browsing data referred to in paragraph 3(a) above and data collected during registration and access via social network profiles, as described in paragraph 3(c) above.
5. Your Purchase Habits and Choices
As described in paragraph 3 (d) above and with the express consent of the user, VALENTINO may process the user's personal data for the purpose of studying the habits and choices of users in order to make VALENTINO products and initiatives more responsive to the tastes and demands of its customers. With the help of automated tools, VALENTINO will process data relating to the value and frequency of purchases (including if the purchases were made during the sales period) as well as the type of products purchased (such as accessories, clothing, haute couture, ready-to-wear) over a specific period of time. This research aims to offer customers and users products, services and initiatives that are better suited to their tastes.
As described in paragraph 3 (a) and (c) above and with the express consent of the user, VALENTINO may process the user's personal data, using automated tools, to study cookies in order to monitor browsing on the Website and to suggest products and services in line with the browsing activity as well as to complete the client’s profile, in order to provide a better service.
The Client can always ask for specific information about this data and analysis and to delete the same.
6. Ways We Process Your Data

Failure to do so does not prevent use of the Website, but may make it impossible for VALENTINO to respond to requests for information and queries, or to send information, updates, newsletters and invitations to VALENTINO events.
7. PERSONAL DATA PROCESSING METHODS CARRIED OUT BY VALENTINO

9. CATEGORIES OF RECIPIENT OF PERSONAL DATA
VALENTINO will communicate personal data of the Website's users only as permitted by the law and as indicated below. Further to what indicated in point 2 b. (namely the Social log-in) personal data shall be processed and disclosed to
- employees and consultants of VALENTINO, which will process data in their capacity of persons in charge of the processing;
- other companies of the same Group acting as data processors (i.e. entities carrying out processing in the name and on behalf of the data controller, and having been appointed for that purpose), in order to carry out contractual activities and services (such as the pick-up in boutique services) and to carry out specific marketing activities (such as inviting the user to local events); and
- companies acting in their capacity of data processors (i.e. entities carrying out processing in the name and on behalf of the data controller, and having been appointed for that purpose) and providing VALENTINO with specific technical and organizational services in relation to the Website (i.e. logistics services, IT services, customer care services and marketing services).
Personal data may also be disclosed to:
- third parties for the sole purpose of performing the purchase agreement (the financial institutions in charge of providing remote card payment services through credit/debit cards);
- third parties specialized in the prevention of computer and online payment-related fraud in order to protect the company from unlawful acts and damages;
- police officers and judicial authorities, in compliance with the law and upon their request, or in case there are good reasons to believe that such disclosure is reasonably necessary to (1) investigate, prevent or take initiatives in relation to suspected unlawful activities, or assist national supervisory authorities; (2) prepare a defence against third party claims or charges, protect the security of its own website and of the company; (3) exercise or protect the rights, property or security of VALENTINO, the VALENTINO Group companies, its affiliates, customers, employees and third parties.
9. How Long We Keep Your Data
Personal data related to the browsing of the Site are kept for the time indicated within the Cookie Policy and the data collected to respond to client’s requests are kept for the time strictly necessary to provide assistance and to manage the relevant follow-ups.The data collected during the iteration with Customer Care are kept for the time strictly necessary and any follow-up with the customer (records of phone calls will be kept for a maximum time of 30 days after recording, except for specific needs for in-depth and subsequent analysis and evaluation of the phone call and except for the records of consents which will be kept for the time strictly necessary to prove the client’s declaration).
Personal data provided for marketing and profiling purposes is kept for the period necessary for the specific processing, based also on the particular sector of the activity (for example, luxury products – 7 years) and bearing in mind the customer's interest in receiving updates about products, events and fashion shows organized by VALENTINO.
10. Your Rights
The user is entitled to obtain, at any time, confirmation from VALENTINO as to whether or not Personal Data relating to him/her is being processed, whether the data is not yet registered, and a clear communication of the data undergoing processing. The user is also entitled to obtain information about the source of the personal data; the purposes and methods of processing; the logic involved in any electronic data processing; details of the data controller and of the data processors; the names of the entities and categories of entities to whom your Personal Data may be disclosed or who may access your Personal Data, for example, as a data processor or any other party authorized to process the data. The user also has the right to request the updating, rectification or amendment of personal data, its erasure, anonymization or restriction of personal data that has been processed unlawfully, including data whose retention is unnecessary for the purposes for which it has been collected or subsequently processed; confirmation that the actions referred to above and their content have been made known to those to whom the data was disclosed, unless this requirement proves impossible or involves means that are manifestly disproportionate to the protected right. 1. Joint Data Controllers
With reference to data related to sales made on the Website’s E-Store the VALENTINO AND VALENTINO USA operate in conjunction as joint controllers of the processing (hereinafter, for the sake of brevity, the "Joint controllers").

The Joint Controllers collect personal data directly from users during the processes of online registration to the Website, when they purchase products, as well as for any necessary pre and after-sales assistance. Other purposes may be outlined from time to time on the Website.
The legal basis for the processing lies in the contract of sale and the requirement to perform the related obligations.

The user is entitled to obtain confirmation, at any time, from the Joint Controllers as to whether their data is being processed, whether the data is registered, and a communication in plain form outlining the data undergoing processing. Moreover, they are entitled to receive from the Joint Controllers information on the source of his/her Personal Data, the purposes and methods of processing his/her Personal Data; the logic involved in any electronic data processing; details of the data controller and of the data processors; the names of the entities and categories of entities to whom his/her Personal Data may be disclosed or who may access his/her Personal Data, for example, as a data processor or a party so appointed. In addition, the user will always has the right to obtain from the Controllers:
a. the updating, correction or supplementating of their personal data;
b. Data portability and the right to be forgotten
