SECOND LIFE

Enhance the circular economy; pursue its giving-back approach by nurturing and supporting the talent of young creatives and to ensure the students the opportunity to touch the craftsmanship and creativity of Maison Valentino. These are the assumptions on which the Valentino Vintage project was born, continuing to be articulated in new waves. After the first phase in February 2023, during which the Maison asked its global community to search their personal wardrobe for vintage Valentino garments to bring to selected stores and exchange the items with the option to buy a new Valentino design, the new stage involved fashion and art schools and its community of students. The Maison has activated an international creative partnership with 1 Granary, donating to their student community and to seven fashion and art schools – one for each of the cities where one of the selected vintage stores were present – a curated selection of Valentino Vintage garments, giving them the opportunity to be in contact with the craftmanship, DNA and iconic codes of the most established Italian Maison de Couture.

Among the seven schools associated with the Valentino Vintage giving back action are: IED in Milan, Institut Français de la Mode in Paris, Central Saint Martins in London, Otis College of Art and Design in Los Angeles, Coconogacco in Tokyo, ESMOD in Seoul, Parsons School of Design in New York.

Invited to participate in the Vintage boutique takeovers, the students of the fashion & art schools present in the seven cities and the 1 Granary community were thus able to discover the craftsmanship and heritage of a Maison that has made sharing its artistic legacy the current mission already looking to the future.
