A COMMON DIRECTION ON MATERIALS
A concrete commitment, that of Maison Valentino towards a more sustainable future, which in recent years has led the brand to implement a gradual direction towards green transition. The latest action in this regard is the participation, starting in January 2023, in Textile Exchange. A non-profit organisation, Textile Exchange operates in the fashion and textile industry and pushes its members to produce in more targeted ways, and to update their knowledge of raw materials, so as to facilitate the adoption of more conscious production methods. One of the organisation’s goals, in fact, is to support the industry to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from raw materials production by 45% by 2030. As a member of the organisation, Valentino will thus be able to develop greater competence when it comes to responsible materials and advanced solutions: a fundamental step in combining the Maison’s creativity and heritage with the needs of the environment and its Community.
