TRACEABILITY

Traceability is a critical aspect of responsible sourcing and is a primary goal in Valentino’s Sustainability Strategy as it involves identifying the origin, use and distribution of materials.

 

By assessing traceability, organizations can gain valuable insights into their supply chain, identify key actors, and map potential social and environmental risks. 

 

Given that each material and its supply chain have unique structures and different levels of traceability maturity, a tailored approach is necessary to reach the desired level of traceability for each category. In this context, Valentino has developed a detailed set of guidelines and standards to establish the required traceability level for each material and actor in the supply chain.

 

This structured approach guides the mapping of raw material origins through suppliers' declarations and sets specific traceability KPIs to monitor performance trends across the supply chain, supporting the progressive improvement of traceability across Valentino's key supply chains. As testament of this commitment, in 2025, Valentino calculated a Traceability KPI classifying the key raw materials, particularly textile and leather, which presents an overall percentage of 82% of traceable materials.
