Maison Valentino reaffirms its dedication to the art world during Singapore Art Week 2024 by commissioning a series of unique works from interdisciplinary Singaporean artist Sarah Choo Jing, titled Gestures of Affection.

Drawing inspiration from Creative Director Pierpaolo Piccioli’s vision for the SS24 Valentino L’ École collection and engaging in a dialogue with key Maison codes, Gestures of Affection celebrates femininity and humanity by focusing on the woman's body, through seven digital videos featuring an inclusive cast of women.

Each video reveals a visual exploration of interpersonal gestures and showcases a distinctive aspect of the female experience, such as sensuality, resilience, empathy, individuality, freedom, passion, and vulnerability.

Engulfed in hues of pink to red, a nod to codes of the Maison, Gestures Of Affection eschews traditional notions associated with gender and vanity in both art and fashion, challenging how the female body is perceived through the ages.

Continuing its giving-back path and people-centric approach, the Maison donated proceeds from the sale of the seven digital and print artworks to AWARE, a leading gender equality advocacy group in Singapore.

Valentino’s participation in Singapore Art Week for a second time demonstrated its commitment to promoting yet another space for creativity and community, supporting initiatives that advance meeting and thought both at a global and local scale.
